non-ROI regions within ROIs

roberto aranibar
Greetings ImageJ community,

Does anyone know if there is a way to create a single ROI selection that
contains non-ROI regions within it? For example, a donut profile where the
inner hole is not included in the ROI selection.

If there is not a way to do it yet, I imagine that such a function/macro
would input multiple selections and an "ON" ROI region, which would be the
region between the selections that is of interest.

Any Ideas?

Thanks so much,

Roberto Aranibar

To do this manually, hold down the Alt key while drawing the hole in
the donut.  It seems like this was discussed not long ago, and a more
elegant solution proposed...check the archives if you haven't already done so.

Re: non-ROI regions within ROIs

Hi everyone,

I take this opportunity to submit this :

When drawing a ³complex² ROI, e.g. by way of region exclusion with the Alt
key as described below, or by way of region addition with the Cap key,
ImageJ seems to consider that the last ROI used is the last component of the
complex ROI, and not the whole of it. So that reverting to previous ROI
(with Command-Cap-E) does not yield the complex ROI.

Am I correct ?

If so, would it be possible to modify that feature ?

Thanks !

André
