Hi,
We have a system here which acquires large images of tissue sections by
stitching adjacent images in to a large seamless montage. These can be
very large (13k x 13k) images.
Most users immediately reduce this to maybe 10% of this size - something
more manageable as they often do not need the high-resolution, rather a
thumbnail. Because of the large size of the images, they can only be
opened on systems with lots and lots of RAM. Is there any way to open
the images as, say, a 10% reduced size without filling the RAM? I would
suspect that this is complicated further by large images being saved as
JPEGs?
Cheers,
Tony
