open large files in ImageJ running under Windows 7

Hi -

We are using images that are 7364 x 17744 pixels in .png format and take
up about 120MB of disk space.  We can have open several of these at one
time in ImageJ running on our 64 bit Linux boxes.  However, we cannot
open even one image in ImageJ on our 32 bit XP boxes.

For an upcoming project, we will be developing larger images on the
order of 7364 x 35000 pixels.

Does anyone have experience opening similar files on ImageJ running on
64 bit Windows 7?

If so, we would appreciate hearing from you with details of your
hardware and software.

Technically, such an image can take up something like 4 times as much
space to be represented as the color image that is displayed actually, but
that still amounts to only 120 + 4 * 120 = 600 megabyte.

Unfortunately, you forgot to offer information about your exact setup,
such as how much RAM you have, and what the error message is actually.

We have good experience with 64-bit XP (and of course, 64-bit Linux and
MacOSX as well) here, provided that there is enough RAM.
