preferences - "options" - in particular, 3D interactive surface plot

is there a way to store various "options" settings in a user-owned file
somewhere?  it seems

e.g. a file such as ~/.imagej where users put settings such as Interactive
3D Surface Plot's "Thermal LUT" option.
