I dont use imageJ much... but does the ROI manager not do what you are
after?
Analyse > tools > ROI manager
Draw line on what your measuring
Click add
Do for all measurements
Then click measure for a table of all measurements
Then file > save as
I guess if your measuring length of something or whatever you need to set
the scale somewhere.
