suggestions for picture region "cleaning"

Peter Oslanec-2
Hi all,

I would like to ask you for some suggestions for "cleaning" of some picture
regions. You can see the picture here
http://www.materialing.whian.net//files/upload/alloy.bmp , the regions
needed to be "cleaned" are marked with arrows."Cleaning" means to improve
the color of these regions in accordance with the "clean" regions (dark
ones) with no or small distorsions of bright regions. I would like to
binarize "clean" picture and measure microstructural characteristics with
automated measurements.

Thanks.

Peto.

Hi

I notice that some wire mesh like structures are blurred at the areas pointed by the arrows.I think you want to get clear image like the other portion. Local histogram equalization may be tried to improved thr contrast. Restoration filters will do a better job but that will require more computaion. Hope this helps.

With warm regards

Sudipta
