surface area of a spherical cap from an image

I need to measure the surface area of debonding on a particle in a polymer
particulate composite under magnification and uniaxial tension.  I would
like to either enter a radius and trace the arc on the image (of the sphere)
that indicates a region of unbond or simply trace the arc.  I need the
surface area for the unbonded particle.  Does anyone know of a plugin that
can help with this task?
