surface plot: not working with image sequence in Ubuntu 10.04

Anyone else having this issue?

Java is version 6 update 22

If I load an individual image then surface plot will work. But if I load an image sequence then it wont do a surface plot for the displayed image, nor for the sequence.

In windows it works fine.
