Fwd: area color

Hi, I have some questions. Is there anybody to help me?

I would like to get somebody to help me with:

1. define all gray values in the picture ( I think that this makes
Historgram)
2. define gray values (range of gray values) for different areas in the
picture (is in ImageJ possibility to label areas and measure gray values
only in the area? )
3. according to this range, change all pixels within the range into one
color (that means that some areas on the picture will have only one color)
