3D reconstruction from stereo images

Hello list members,

I am aware of the possibility to make anaglyphs from Stereo images.
However, is there a way to also reconstruct a "real" 3D dataset from
this? I am looking for solution that I can feed with one or more
Stereo images from and SEM and get back a z(x,y) data stack to extract
height information.

any ideas, how I could do this.
