Volume viewer issue

Hello,
I am working on viewing a skeletonized image of vasculature and the image from the confocal microscope is in .ids format with 4 different colors in the "c axis". I think this may be responsible for my problem, which is that when ever I use volume viewer I end up with stripes along the image making it impossible to navigate or learn anything from. Please help me figure out how to avoid these stripes.
