Segmentation problem

Hi to all,

I'm a beginner in imagej and i'm facing some problems in segmenting some not easy pictures (below)










I'm supposed to characterize each rays by counting the cells inside them. I converted my pictures into 8 bits then binarised them with an entropy threshold and substracted the background (15 pixels) then analysed the particules after a watershed but it seems like everytime i get an over-segmentation.
Anyone has a better idea on how to segment such pictures please?

Any help would be appreciated.
