segmentation editor - fiji

Hi,

I'm trying to segment axons stained with MAP-2 using the segmentation
editor. The problem is that my computer freezes when I go the slice number 2
and press again the Threshold button.
The image is 18Mb. Can I reduce its size without loosing a lot of
information. I want to segment axons from the entire image.

Any suggestions???
