Interference Fringe removal using ImageJ?

I'm a postdoc at the Free University Brussels in Beglium and I've been looking at ways how to succesfully remove these strong interference fringes on this confocal image of a protein crystal. So far, I haven't been too succesfull at that. I was hoping to find some suggestions here on how to get rid of these diagonal black bands.
