Problems in analysing SEM image of gold nanoparticles on cellulose fiibers

Hi,

I'm having a probelm in analysing the particle size of gold nanoparticles sitting on top of cellulose fibers. the background noise from the fibers are too strong that I could not threshold out the nanoparticles effectively. And some nanoparticles are aggregated and make it more difficult to measure the size of the individual nanoparticles. Attached is one of my images.

Please help me.
