fine tuning of the drift correction (maximum required shoft a few pixels)

In a recorded movie of  very noisy high resolution electrom
microscopy images, I can do a rough drift correction based on the
image shift of the last and first image. On top of this regular drift
there is an irregular displacement of a few pixels.
If I use Register ROI plugins I get most of the time a couple of
times big jumps.

I would like to have a function in which I can choose a maximum
displacement (e.g 4 pixels). I guess that with such a restriction the
proper alignment can be obtain.

THUS: Is there an alignment tool  in which I can restrict the image
shifts to a maximym number of pixels?
