group z-projector

Hello,

If a 4D dataset with 2 channels, z-series collected at time intervals, is opened as a Hyperstack, how can it be converted to a brightest point timelapse series?  the Grouped Z projector and the Grouped Stack projector merge both channels to create an 8-bit single channel movie unless I split the channels before using the grouped projectors.  

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
