I'm currently using Unibrain 'Fire-I' 640x480 greyscale cameras in 10.4.11 on a MacLaptop (2.2ghz, intel core 2 duo) with little success - despite looking fine in other apps, they will only do 4-bit depth in ImageJ (v1.44b, using "File/Import/Video"). None of the regular system adjustments can change this and I can find no plugins/drivers that properly support these cameras (though they market them for OS X they provide virtually zero support - I'm glad they were inherited and I didn't spend money for them) .  If anyone else has successfully used these with ImageJ I would enjoy hearing from you.

Back on subject: what low-cost USB or Firewire cameras are Apple Users operating with ImageJ?  I'm starting to work with light-scanning and structured-light applications and would prefer to automate everything with ImageJ, so I'm in the market to purchase what will interface well.  Image sizes  from 640x480 up through 1600x1200 would be good, as well as the abilities to set gain/shutter/framerate/gamma/color_parameters (for appropriate cameras)/frame_sync would be beneficial - in two words: manual EVERYTHING.  My framerate requirements are low: 5-10 FPS would be my maximum.

Thanks for any comments,
-Steve-
