Opening FITS files with multiple images

I am working on a project where we have collected video in FITS format.  ImageJ will open the first frame, but I can't seem to get ImageJ to see the other frames.  The files are rather large (1-8 GB) so I was hoping to open them in a virtual stack, and do my processing from there.  

I've tried using fv on Windows to open the file, but it chokes and dies.  Also, a LabVIEW routine to open FITS files has an apparent limit of 2 GB.  It seems like there should be a workable solution out there for manipulating FITS files, but I have yet to find it.

Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated.
