The problem you mentioned does exist. The background purple turns out to be blue in all of the pictures. However, the flowers look pretty close to what I see. (Maybe because they have pale petals to the edge?)
Also, the flowers typically ocuppy 1/5 to 1/4 of the whole image. I don't know how much distortion due to the background there would be.

The calculation you provided is very clear and makes sense. However, I don't know how much time it would take to adjust more than 200 pictures without any plugin. I have tried the white balance from the "levels" option in Photoshop too. But it's still the adjustment within an image rather than across images based on a reference. I will continue to explore, meanwhile, I would appreciate your further advice.
