In an ImageJ course i gave i listed several plugins which are capable to track motion data (automatically or not) which could be useful for your work:

The *.avi can simply be imported in ImageJ. If necessary you have to decompress (or convert) the *.avi file.

Measurement can then be made frame by frame or maybee automatically with the aforementioned
plugins.
