Hello Philippe,
I'm also under 32bits version of ImageJ (1.43n, I'm late) with ubuntu 9.10.
I had the same problem when I use the ubuntu repository version of the
JDK. If you hit "java -version" in a terminal, you'll have :
java version "1.6.0_0"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.6.1) (6b16-1.6.1-3ubuntu1)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode)
For my config, the Volker workaround does not fix the problem :-(
But it works perfectly with the ImageJ built-in JRE !
My "ImageJ/jre/bin/java -version" gives :
java version "1.6.0_05"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_05-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 10.0-b19, mixed mode)
And I can close without saving …
