Rookie question

Dear ImageJ Users:

 

I have photographs of bobcat canines and am interested in measuring their
width at two distances from the crown using ImageJ. Photos contain multiple
canines and a single tape measure for scale. I can send an example image if
contacted directly. I have limited experience with ImageJ and was hoping
some of the more experienced users might be able to give me some ideas as to
how I could tackle this problem.
