Hi,

i cannot (yet) reproduce this, as I use ImageJ with the built in JVM and a
fixed limit of 512 Megs

(sorry for the silly question, where can I easily read these numbers you
are referring to?)

BUT the latest XP update seems to have cause other strange things as (not
really a big but strange issue....)
it made the Media player disappear from the Quickstart area as also from
the Program menu (it´still
on the computer, though)

First I thought this is probably due to a new company policy  to avoid
people "wasting time" during work hours....

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards

Joachim Wesner

Pierre,

I understand that the JRE will only make available to ImageJ the memory
that it can reserve from the operating system; could some bloated
program be running in the background, reducing what the OS can allocate
to the JRE?  Check the Windows task manager (Windows key + R, type
taskmgr, hit enter) Processes tab, Mem Usage.

Which Java version are you running (Help->About ImageJ)?
