The ctrl + < or > shortcuts work for me to change Z slices. Here are  
some shortcuts you can try:

     ctrl + left arrow or right arrow
     ctrl + scroll wheel
     space bar + left arrow or right arrow
     space bar + scroll wheel
     alt + < or > (if T=1)
     alt + left arrow or right arrow (if T=1)
     alt + scroll wheel (if T=1)
