Channel merge throws an exception

I mistakingly tried to merge two channels, on 8-bit and one 16-bit
using the "Merge Channels" command, with the "Make Composite" option
checked.I just got Java exceptions thrown in the log window. I
understand this is incorrect to merge two different depth images, but
it works fine without the "Composite" option. Maybe it would be better
to have a consistent output for this with or without the "Composite"
option ?
