Wrong keyboard layout on Ubuntu

Hello,

I'm fighting with this problem for some times now. I'm using Ubuntu 64
bit (Debian derived) and when I run ImageJ it assume I have the qwerty
(us layout) keyboard. I have a French keyboard.
But when I start ImageJ as root, it then properly pick the French keyboard.

Has anyone found out how to solve this problem ? Is this a Java issue ?
