plot profile behaviour

Dear all,

I observe the following and I don't know why this happens:
when I draw a segmented line and use "Plot Profile" from the "Analyze"
menu I get a profile plot along this line, which is what I want.
However, if I do the same thing with a line width other than 1 my
segmented line is transformed into a curve and I don't want this.
Any ideas why this is? It does not happen if I use the RGB profiler
plugin instead.
