It works for me on Gentoo Linux x86_64 with
www-client/mozilla-firefox-3.0.3 and dev-java/icedtea6-1.2

When you load that page for Level 2 task 1, does the Java applet load
to where you can see the Ubuntu desktop?
Does anything happen when you click on the trash can in the lower
right corner as Jean-Christophe suggests?
Note that you have to double-click per the suggestion the Trash can
gives you ^_~
