Dear Jerome,

I've had success with the Serial/IO library using the Keyspan adapter  
or adapters you can buy from them. It's commercial, but not expensive,  
and the interface is easier to earn than RXTX. You can feel free to  
scavenge code here:

I'm not sure it works with the newest Intel Macs, so caveat emptor!
