Hi,

I did pretty much exactly what you are asking recently. I used the
NeuronJ plugin to measure the total length of the fibres and then
generated a binary image to calculate the total area of the image the
fibres occupy. Dividing the area by the length then gave me the mean
width of the fibres in the image.
