Open Virtual Stack Problem

Invoking the "File/Import/Tiff Virtual Stack..." menu item previously displayed a dialog that could be completed to generate a virtual stack. However, invoking the command now displays the "Open File" dialog with which only a single file can be opened.

Can anyone explain the behavior change? I am using version 1.39r.
