Knoppix 5.1.1CD Java 1.5.0_10 IJ 1.38x running under qemu on Windows XP,
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 Ghz 3 Gb: 3.66 sec.

Interestingly this benchmark takes 6.66 seconds using the jre included
in the ImageJ Linux distribution.  Other routines (my own plugin for
example) take about the same time for Knoppix jre vs the one in the
ImageJ directory.
