Macro language exponential number format?

Hi there,

working with my copy of ImageJ 1.38x i just discover that the macro
language does not accept statements like

a = 5e-3 ;

or
a = 5.e-3;
or
 a = 5.0e-3;

(a = 0.005 works, however)

Am I totally confused here? Is that a "feature" that only recently crept
in?
