Hi Chuck,

I run ImageJ at home on my Mac PowerBook (PowerPC) running  Mac OS 10.3.9 just fine.  Just like on my WindowsXP machine at work, the plugins go in a plugin folder in the ImageJ folder. Currently I'm running version 1.38n of ImageJ on Java 1.4.2_12, according to the About ImageJ screen.

The only differences I've noticed is that it runs much slower than on my work machine, and I can't drag images onto the ImageJ menu bar to open them (but they open when I drag them on the icon in the dock).

Just like on Windows you need to quit and restart ImageJ for it to recognize the newly loaded plugins. Also, just like in Windows,  you need to  compile the Java files, but not the Jar or class files.

Does this help?

If not, what versions of OS and ImageJ and what Mac are you on?  Do no downloaded plugins work?

Subject: new user with very basic problem

I am new to ImageJ and have no experience with Java.  I also am in the
process of becoming familiar with Mac OS X.  On my old Windows machine I
can successfully run ImageJ with downloaded plugins (e.g., Stackreg).
However, on the iMac ImageJ doesn't seem to recognize the presence of
downloaded plugins, and I have been unable to figure out why.  Can someone
suggest a solution to this problem?

Thanks,
Chuck
