Thank you for the reply. With a very helpful hint from Wayne, I am now able
to allocate at least 2700MB (I actually allocate 2300MB). This is done by using
the JRockit 6 JVM, and adding a /3GB flag in the windows Boot.ini file. This is
a link that told me how to do it
