Area measurement of a curved surface

Dear ImageJ Users,
 
I am new to Imagej, and I am trying to measure the surface area of exposed
root surfaces due to periodontal diseases. I have obtained the cast models
of the patients, but have not been able to go further. The root surfaces are curved to different degrees. I would appreciate any suggestions on this subject.
