normalised quantitation - which measurment to use

hi
  I am new to imageJ, and would like to understand the different
options of measuring flourescence in single cell images from confocal
microscope.
can someone explain the differences between these measurments :  
Area, Integrated density,Area fraction, Mean Grey Value. especially regarding the above threshold areas relation to all selected area-
  is Area - limited to threshold? is it normalised to the selected
area?
  what exactly is integrated density? i read the totorial but still can not understand.
