image restoration

Hello!

maybe i wasnt clear enough...

I have some images of cells (phase contrast and fluorescence intesity). Now,
i want to do some restoration of homogeneity. That mean, that I want to have
homogeneous images on lightness (luminosity).


Does anybody know which algorithm, procedure, etc.  is good for doing this.
maybe some references,
code, URL, will be also wellcome.
