Frame grabber with Mac OS 9.2

Hello all;
        I have just set up a Mac 9.2 with an A-D converter box (thanks for
the suggestions Vincenzo!). It works well with the Quicktime Capture
plugin. However, the Alt key does not work to capture an image and
keep imaging live. I have to hit the space bar to capture, which
stops the live image. Any ideas how I can continue the live image,
but grab an image? Just trying to get something to work with pieces
and parts laying around, without spending anything on upgrades (other
than the A-D box).
