hi,

I found the follwoing hint from Karl-Heinz useful,
Modifying the antscript (build.xml) as follows,

Change (line 36 in my build.xml)

<target name="run" depends="build" description="Build and run ImageJ.">
    <java jar="ij.jar" fork="yes" />
  </target>
to

<target name="run" depends="build" description="Build and run ImageJ.">
    <java maxmemory="1000m" jar="ij.jar" fork="yes" />
  </target>
