outline data

Hi - I'd like to collect outline data from images - so I'd like a macro
or plugin which will draw round an image, or a part of it, and export
the pixel coordinates. Having browsed the lists of macros and plugins,
nothing seems to do this - is there an existing macro/plugin which does
this job?
