uncompressed AVI format

Hi there,

I found there is a plug-in to open AVI video

http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/plugins/avi-reader.html

However, it failed to open my AVI with error message
saying
"AVI file must be uncompressed"

Could any one give me a hint for how to convert a
compressed AVI to uncompressed one?
