Updated interest in Matlab / ImageJ interface

Greetings all.
A while back (2003) there were several postings related to interfacing ImageJ with Matlab.  In particular the postings from Alan H. Baydush, Bryan Smith and James Cheong were quite helpful.  Does anyone have other examples of using ImageJ to perform image processing/analysis tasks from Matlab that they have written up (web sites, journal articles, etc.)?  I am about to embark on that journey and would appreciate learning from the experience of others.  I think I can figure out how to call the various functions of ImageJ (plugins, etc.) and retrieve the resulting image, but I'm most curious about returning numeric results to Matlab for further processing.  It looks like the MIJ plugin assists image movement, but I don't see anything to allow data (like the results table?) to move back and forth.
