Hi. I'm not sure what your images look like, but lacunarity may be useful. FracLac calculates multifractal measures, fractal dimension, and lacunarity, as well as other morphological features of binary images, and is available here:

I need help about heterogeneity measures of histological images. Im
starting to perform an analysis on histological specimens of cellular
cluster distribution. I need a measure of heterogeneity of cellular
distribution, which is independent from the number of cells in the tissue
(cellular density).
I ask you suggestions about:
- the more reliable measure to do (nearest neighbour distribution, fractal
dimension of relative dispersion, minimal spanning tree graph edge length
distribution
)
- a way to perform those analysis by ImageJ
- an easy source for acquisition of basic concepts on this kind of measures.
Thank you
Carlo
