Question About "Calculate Black to White Ratio.txt"

Can the "Calculate Black to White Ratio.txt" macro be used with
the "freehand selections" tool to calculate the black to white ratio
within a selected area, or does this macro always only calculate the black
to white ratio for the entire image?
