Hi,
I know PC's, but am clueless about Macs. Someone with a new Mac asked
me to help install ImageJ at a conference with only spotty internet
access. I tried to install it, but failed. I hope someone can help me
to figure out what I did wrong. Sorry if my memory is poor about the
details, but in the past it seemed easy to install ImageJ on a Mac. Are
things different now?
I had an old IJ install zip file(IJ 145) for a mac which I placed on the
desktop, double clicked, then navigated into the folder that was created
and double clicked on ImageJ. It complained that it needed Java 6.10
(or some flavor of Java 6). OK, so when I was able to get some internet
time I downloaded the latest Java for Mac, which was version 7. I
installed that on his machine, but ImageJ still required Java 6 and
would not work.
What is the proper Java needed for ImageJ. If it is not provided
anymore on Macs where can I download a version that will work for
ImageJ? Would it be possible to have a bomb proof ImageJ installation
package that automatically does all the needed steps. I.e just as
ImageJ is available for the PC as a self-installing program.
