We have images that are three 8 bit channels that open and display fine as individual Grayscale or Color channels, but when we try to display them using the Composite setting in the Channels window, we get a memory error.
For instance, one of the images is 36888 X 28406 pixels X 3 channels at 8 bits, 2.9GB. According to the Memory monitor, IJ is using 3112 MB (38%) and the program is set to have 8000 MB allocated to it. When we click in Composite to see the H&E staining colors, there is a lag of 20 sec or so, and then a <Out of memory> message is displayed in the Log window. However, the Memory window does not change during this time.
Is this a bug?
Thank you!
