Mark and copy complete picture

Hello

I am using on my MacBook 10.6.8 ImageJ Version 1.47q
Often I just want to use it to emphasize some screenshots.
So I paste the screenshot from clipboard to ImageJ, make a selection and press CMD+D for Draw.
Now I select all and I want to copy the screenshot WITH my drawn selection to the clipboard.
But: only the original screenshot is copied, not my selection.

How can I combine my drawn selection with the screenshot?
Why isn’t it copied when I press CMD+A (for select all) and CMD+C (for copy)?
