2D-gels analysis

Hello all,

I'm trying to used Image J to analyze 2-dimentional gels with the goal of identifying spots or proteins that could show different expresion in a group of samples. This is the tipical analysis of proteomic profile that you can do with software as Melanie, Delta2D, SameSpots.
 However, it is difficult to perform a proper analysis and I am still not sure if I can use Image J for the analysis of 2D-gels.

I would like to know if some of you are using this software for proteomics studies. Or if you already know that it is impossible to use Image J for this.
I really appreciate any comments and contribution.
